Job Summary

VSolvit is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support DevSecOps delivery for DoD systems. In this role, you will assess and remediate cybersecurity risks, manage authorization packages, and ensure compliance with appropriate DoD controls. You will be a critical team member ensuring systems achieve and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO).

As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will support product teams by analyzing security scans, documenting cybersecurity impacts, and collaborating with developers and stakeholders.

Some of these are, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), and staying focused on the assigned tasks including company meetings, and completing other tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Review automated security scans in CI/CD pipeline
  • Identify and address cybersecurity risks during backlog refinement
  • Create and maintain system documentation in Confluence
  • Manage MCCAST authorization packages and POA&M updates
  • Conduct cybersecurity acceptance testing
  • Document and apply STIGs using DISA STIG Viewer
  • Perform impact analysis on application updates
  • Coordinate with security teams, hosting providers, and stakeholders

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
  • 5+ years of cybersecurity experience in DoD or federal environments
  • Expertise in RMF A&A process and NIST 800-53 controls
  • Familiarity with Jira, user stories, and CI/CD tools
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain DoD SECRET Clearance
  • If applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with MCCAST package management
  • Strong background in DevSecOps practices
  • Familiarity with DISA STIG Viewer and ASD STIG compliance
