ResponsibilitiesLead AI infusion across Windows surfaces (e.g. Settings, Start, Taskbar, File Explorer, Notifications) and platform services-clarify scenarios, define roadmaps, and drive end to end execution from prototype to flight to worldwide release.Design and develop AI-driven applications, delivering scalable, user-focused solutions across Web, OS and mobile platforms.Prototype agentic experiences (retrieval, tool use/actions, on device inference) and harden them into scalable, secure components and services-owning performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. (Our teams actively use custom/on device models in engineering workflows today.)Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the AI playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.Drive data informed iteration with experimentation and telemetry-define success metrics, build/monitor dashboards, and run A/Bs to grow engagement and customer lifetime value.Advise leadership on AI strategy. Track the state of the art, evaluate build vs buy for models and platforms, and influence investment decisions in partnership with PM, Design, Research, and partner orgs.Raise the engineering bar-contribute to shared tooling, enforce privacy/security/accessibility standards, and mentor engineers across teams. |
