SALARY: $21.85 - $25.00 per hour. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Working in direct alignment with the Director of Tracks & Electives and in close collaboration with the Director of Military Medicine: Serve as the primary point of contact for students, staff, and faculty regarding military education, providing consistent onsite support and guidance for military-affiliated students, including those in the Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP).
  • Lead, guide, and mentor students in the Military Medicine Track, fostering leadership, self-reliance and professional readiness.
  • Coordinate all aspects of Military Medicine Track events, including planning, execution, and logistics to ensure engaging and effective experiences.
  • Ensure the Military Medicine Track complies with university policies and procedures, maintaining high standards of academic integrity and operational excellence.
  • Assist the Director of Tracks and Electives in developing, promoting, and coordinating community-based educational opportunities and events for military students, building partnerships with civilian and military leaders.
  • Work in alignment with the Director of Tracks & Electives to ensure Military Medicine Track activities support and strengthen the overall mission of Tracks & Electives.
  • Maintain the military curriculum, schedule presenters from military backgrounds, and coordinate student-led projects to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Support the recruitment of RVU students into the HPSP scholarship program and collaborate with military recruiters to ensure ongoing student compliance with program requirements.
  • Implement and coordinate military clinical rotations, along with additional learning and networking opportunities, to prepare students for real-world military healthcare scenarios.
  • Guide HPSP students through military residency applications and document residency match results to support their career progression.
  • Partner with the Marketing Department to develop and distribute public relations materials that promote community tracks and raise awareness of RVU's military community.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with military branches, healthcare organizations, and RVU-MCOM departments to advance military healthcare education.
  • Offer support and guidance to the Student Association of Military Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (SAMOPS), fostering student leadership and involvement.
  • In support of the Director of Tracks & Electives: Schedule and attend Track meetings, preparing accurate minutes to facilitate communication and follow-up.
  • Assist the Director of Military Medicine in advancing Tracks & Electives initiatives beyond the Military Medicine Track.
  • Arrange transportation and accommodations for students, faculty, and guests attending Military Track events.
  • Maintain databases for the Military Medicine Track and related research initiatives, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
  • Manage financial data for the Military Medicine Track, conduct analyses, and prepare expense reports to support budgetary oversight.
  • Coordinate the acquisition and maintenance of supplies in collaboration with relevant partners.
  • Oversee the maintenance and distribution of simulation equipment to support hands-on training.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Tracks and Electives and the Chair of Clinical Sciences to coordinate and participate in educational activities benefiting all RVU-MCOM students.
  • Contribute to building a culture that respects, values, and promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, and access across the academic community.
  • Contribute to select cross-departmental projects, events, and program evaluations that enhance student engagement and learning.
  • Actively participate in departmental meetings as a key representative of the Military Medicine Track, taking ownership of initiatives and decisions to advance program goals while collaborating respectfully with colleagues across Tracks and Electives and Clinical Sciences.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Tracks & Electives, Assistant/Associate Dean or Dean of RVU-MCOM.
