Global Procurement Services (GPS) at Cisco is a core Finance function responsible for running the end-to-end buying ecosystem to optimize spend, protect the company, and deliver value. GPS provides expertise and digital platforms that allow Cisco employees to buy the goods and services needed to operate the company. The C-Worker Team under GPS has an outstanding bird's eye view across the entire contingent workforce as we are responsible for leading the onboarding and operational processes for contingent workers.

Your Impact

As an Individual Contributor C-Worker Business Operations Manager, you will lead all aspects of all phases of the contingent worker transaction lifecycle within the Vendor Management System (VMS) and aligning to contingent worker policy. Your role involves delivering state of art operational support & contingent labor consultancy to Cisco's managers, strategic sourcing Managers, suppliers & other stakeholders. You will be responsible for standardizing the program processes, facilitating vital trainings, maintaining procurement and compliance standards. You will use data-driven insights, project management skills, and excel proficiency to improve operations, team capacity planning, and act as a regional functional lead to the Operations Specialists. You need to collaborate closely with cross functional teams (HR, IT/Infosec, Legal, Tax, compliance) and sourcing teams to ensure alignment with interpersonal goals.

You should be able to use technology (in collaboration with Data & Analysis team) to optimize procurement processes, resulting in continuous improvement and effective resource management.

Key Responsibilities:

Contingent Workforce Operations:

  • Lead contingent workforce operations in regions for Cisco businesses.
  • Responsible to manage contingent workforce lifecycle and act as a SME with indepth understanding of VMS, procurement standards, risk & compliance policies and complying to local regulation.
  • First escalation point for stakeholders to ensure ease of business & quality of delivery.
  • Ability to assist the Service line manager to effectively manage the Opex spend, periodically.
  • Must ensure synergies between the regions & teams.
Supplier Excellence & Engagement:
  • Engage with suppliers in the region to ensure effective use of supplier capabilities, identifying supply base gaps and resolve operational issues.
  • Partner with Sourcing Managers to assess supplier performance and improve delivery.
Stakeholder Excellence & Business Acumen:
  • Build and maintain relationships with Cisco managers by offering tailored consultative solutions and educating them on program processes and delivery expectations.
  • Ability to lead business engagement to highlight operational gaps, changes making an impact, trend and areas of improvement.
Leadership & Management:
  • Promote an inclusive culture, mentor peers, and demonstrate emotional intelligence in interactions with team, suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Encourage team collaboration and development to achieve operational success.
  • Exposure to the trends in continent workforce, industry insights, and regional compliance

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years proven experience, with 5+ years in Procurement/ Sourcing and / or operations.
  • Digital first mentality with understanding of AI experience layer including automations such as BOTS, RPA, Agentic AI to improve operational efficiency.
  • Data & Analytics skills targeted towards effective resource management.
  • Strong supplier & stakeholder management expertise with proven track record to influence and collaborate at all levels.
  • Experience with VMS like Beeline or Fieldglass and exposure to Service Request / Incident Management in Service Now.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA in Operations / supply chain is preferred.
  • Experience in continuous improvement approaches like lean six sigma, Kaizen, TQM etc.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels with strong interpersonal skills
  • A proactive and new way, with a keen sense of urgency and the ability to think in an unexpected way.
  • Capability to lead and run strategic projects
