Foothill Family's Nurturing Connections Program is designed to establish sustainable, integrated network of care that bridges behavioral health, medical, developmental, and nutritional support services for birthing people, children ages 0-5, and their caregivers.

The Program Supervisor provides weekly individual and group supervision that incorporates administrative, clinical and reflective practices. The Program Supervisor assures quality of service provision and monitoring of program's direct service staff for contract compliance. The Program Supervisor protects the integrity of the program and demonstrates respect for the parallel process by supporting, guiding and building on the strengths of staff so that they may best support, guide and build on the strengths of the families served.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports and promotes the mission of the Agency: Foothill Family empowers children and families on their journey to achieve personal success.
  • Supervises the Program direct services and assures program and contract compliance in collaboration with the Nurturing Connections Program Manager.
  • Provides weekly quality individual, administrative, clinical, and reflective supervision following Agency guidelines.
  • Ensures staff are provided with adequate skill development, professional support and are held accountable for the service delivery.
  • Ensures the clinical adequacy of services delivered and the provision of high quality, culturally sensitive, family centered care.
  • Assigns cases as appropriate to staff and monitors ongoing progress.
  • Assures accurate data is submitted by staff on a timely basis to meet all program, funding source, and contract requirements.
  • Assists Program Manager with the hiring of new staff. Provides on-the-job training to new and on-going staff based on assessment of individual staff needs and contract requirements.
  • Works independently and as part of a team; responsible to ensure coverage of caseloads during absences and/or in case of emergencies and disasters.
  • Works with Nurturing Connections staff, families, and community stakeholders to obtain feedback regarding overall program quality improvement and to identify and help address gaps in and barriers to service.
  • Provides care or services to minors or comes into contact with minors as part of their job duties.
  • Provides services relating to the administration of public funds or benefits, including eligibility for public funds or public benefits.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the field of early childhood development, pregnancy, and related areas.
  • Creates and maintains a creative, positive, sustainable, and supportive work environment.
  • Participates in Agency staff training activities and provides input on overall staff training needs.
  • Identifies any individual, Agency, or systems problems which impede service to clients and/or productive teamwork and submit recommendations for problem resolution.
  • Conducts sessions and observations in the field including in client homes as assigned and needed.
  • Attends in-person meetings and events at various locations within the Los Angeles County and surrounding areas.
  • Performs work in a safe manner at all times and ensures employees are abiding by safety practices; takes action when employees put themselves or others at risk.
  • Follows all policies, procedures, and legal mandates including HIPAA, client confidentiality, releases of information, protected health information (PHI) and client files.

  • Ensures performance and behaviors support the Agency's performance quality improvement (PQI) goals and objectives.
  • Reports to work on time and maintains reliable and regular attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Agency's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Master's degree in human services or fields related to working with children and families, or bachelor's degree in these fields with 3 years of relevant experience, or less than a bachelor's degree.
  • A solid understanding of or experience in supervising diverse staff with humility, as well as providing support to staff in stressful work environments.
  • Supervisory and/or administrative experience in early childhood development or related program preferred.
  • Knowledge of infant and child development and parent-child attachment.
  • Experience with family services that embraces the concepts of family-centered and strength-based service provision.
  • Knowledge of parent-infant health and dynamics of child abuse and neglect.
  • Experience supporting culturally diverse communities/families.
  • Experience in home visiting with a strong background in early childhood prevention services.
  • Willingness to engage in building reflective practice (e.g., capacity for introspection, communicating awareness of self in relation to others, recognizing value of supervision, etc.).
  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, creativity, and enthusiasm.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to be detail oriented, following up on concerns, and understanding the systems which help ensure quality of service and accurate record keeping.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cooperatively as a team leader and team member.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in providing home based services to culturally diverse communities/families
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to make sound clinical judgments and follow and give complex directions.
  • Valid CA Driver's License and maintains insurability on the Agency's auto liability policy (including a minimum of 2 years driving experience) and maintains the California state required auto insurance liability limits OR maintains reliable transportation to attend all appointments and meetings as required in the position.
