We are seeking an innovative and experienced Technology Director to oversee and drive the company's technology strategy. In this role, you will lead the planning, implementation, and management of IT systems and infrastructure to ensure scalable, secure, and efficient technology solutions that support our business objectives. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align technology initiatives with organizational priorities and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. This role reports to the company board.

Duties and responsibilities

The Director of Technology will be expected to:





  • Develop, implement, and evaluate IT projects in line with organizational goals.





  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, promoting knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration.





  • Day-to-day management of the team including scheduling, performance evaluations, 1-1 feedback, addressing issues in a timely manner if/when needed.





  • Collaborate with board members, team members and outside vendors to develop and strategize technological infrastructure and systems.





  • Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively to non-technical team members at all organizational levels





  • Manage the company's technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networking systems.





  • Manage projects related to the implementation, testing and roll out of new systems and technologies.





  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects: This includes defining project scope, setting objectives, managing budgets and timelines, and mitigating risks.





  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery, security, and business continuity plans.





  • Consult with various levels of management to identify business and technology needs to optimize department workflow and efficiencies.





  • Ensure smooth delivery and operation of IT services by monitoring the system's performance.





  • Identifying vulnerabilities, the need for upgrades, and opportunities for improvement.





  • Keep up to date with new and emerging technologies and recommend how they can be leveraged to improve business operations.





  • Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate a team of technical professionals, providing guidance and support in their career development.





  • Create processes and standards for selection, implementation, and support of systems.




The current systems under the scope of the Director of Technology include, but are not limited to:





  • Salesforce





  • Acumatica





  • Microsoft Azure / Office 365





  • Camera security system





  • Manufacturing tracking and monitoring





  • Shipping and receiving tracking





  • On site redundant data centers





  • Redundant fiber between buildings





  • Endpoint security tools





Required Qualifications





  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.





  • Proven experience as an IT manager or in a similar role.





  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.





  • Ability to manage a project from design to completion including rolling out to end users





  • Solid understanding of business practices and project management methodology





  • Strong knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure, and networking.





  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.





  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.





  • Ability to think strategically and align technology with business objectives.





  • Fluency in English, both written and oral





Preferred Qualifications





  • Knowledge of Salesforce environment





  • Knowledge of Acumatica or a comparable ERP system





  • Knowledge of Sage100 Software/Crystal Reports/QuickBooks/Zenkraft





  • Knowledge of Linux based servers





  • Knowledge of NodeJS, AngularJS, HTML, NGINX, Python, JavaScript, jQuery, Kendo UI, ASP.NET and C#





  • Knowledge of APIs and how they communicate between systems





  • Knowledge of relational databases





  • Managing users, apps, and cloud infrastructure in Azure





  • Managing on site data centers





  • Managing Windows based office IT infrastructure





  • Managing Fortinet based security





  • Managing Xtreme Networks





  • Knowledge of Precious Metals a plus





Working conditions

This job will require supporting work in 3 separate work locations in Bridgewater, MA. Travel will be required between buildings as necessary. This job will require after-hours business responsibilities. This job operates in a professional work environment. This is an open office environment with a fair amount of background noise. All locations contain cameras in all work areas and are staffed with security guards and some of which carry firearms. This is a smoke-free work environment, and drug testing is routinely done.
