Short Intro and About the Job

In this role, you will be accountable for driving category management principles through the application of strong, proactive data analytics and insights-driven performance. You will serve as a category steward of the Yogurt, Creamers, Plant Based Milk, Ready-to-drink Coffee, Baby Food, Cheese, Aseptic Milk, Aseptic Creamers, Ready-to-drink Protein, Plant Based Ice Cream, and Salad Dressings categories, as well as their associated Category Growth Plans. This person will provide compelling and impactful presentations, develop and maintain tools, and other information in support of Danone and category growth. This Manager will be responsible for managing the relationship at Food Lion and Hannaford and will have direct customer relationships. They will support the division on internal/external reports and presentations.

Responsibilities:

    Perform category analysis for Food Lion and Hannaford as well as Danone Sales, Leadership, and internal cross-functional HQ teams in an extremely fast-paced environment.
  • Perform competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges to core business areas.
  • Use syndicated and/or retailer-specific data to develop, prepare, and present information and recommendations in support of category management and key retail sales initiatives (such as retailer performance, trends & opportunities, pricing effectiveness, promotion effectiveness, market share gap analysis, etc.).
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Analytic expertise (Syndicated, Retailer POS, Panel)
    • Develop action plans and recommendations based on data and insights
    • Develop strategic vision and selling materials to support Category Growth Plan
  • Analyze Business Trends: Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly category & business trends via IRI/Nielsen, Panel data, etc. to drive immediate action on trends and broadly share key insights to influence the organization.
  • This is a customer-facing role requiring quantitative and qualitative analysis for one-off requests for the retailer, their category meetings, new item meetings, and our category platforms.
  • Strategic focus on implementing special projects such as Project Snack, Shelf Invaders, Project Carly, and Demand Spaces.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to ensure alignment of category strategies and initiatives, and to support sales efforts with data-driven insights and recommendations.

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $140,000 USD. The exact salary offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate's relevant experience, geographic location, internal equity, and market conditions. About You

  • 4-year College degree in Business or a related field
  • 3 to 5+ years of sales analytic experience working with or within the CPG industry preferred
  • Category management and direct customer experience
  • Willing to travel 25% of the time
  • Superior data management skills and experience with various sales analytic software/tools (e.g., Circana/Nielsen, Numerator, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, including PowerQuery and PowerPivot. - Preferred but not required
  • Strong presentation skills with examples of previous work
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication skills and flexibility with the ability to take data and tell a persuasive story in 10 slides or less.
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Remote Work Location or from one of the corporate offices
