Job Description	Pitt County Government - 4550 County Home Rd Greenville, NC 27858 - is currently seeking an Animal Control Officer. Under general supervision this position is responsible to protect the public health and respond to requests concerning a variety of animal problems and complaints dealing with domestic animals and sometimes-wild animals as they might relate to rabies. Duties and Responsibilities: This position regulates the rabies control laws of the State and policies of the County. Rabies Control Officers are required to be on-call in a rotating schedule to handle calls dealing with an actual animal bite of a human being, an injured domestic animal, or request from a public safety officer. Responsible for completion and final disposition of investigations and reports on all "dangerous or potentially dangerous dogs" when complaints are filed against the dog's owner. Reports to the Animal Control Lead Officer.
Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.)	Prefer at least 1 year of rabies control officer experience. Valid NC Driver's License with good driving record. Experience handling animals and courses related to animal control or rabies control.
