This is a fixed term position that ends three years from the employee's start date.

Flexible work arrangements are available for this position, including the ability to work 100% remotely. We prefer a candidate located in the Central Texas Region as travel to campus for occasional in-person events, training, team meetings, activities, etc., will be required.

This position provides life/work balance with typically a 40-hour work week, and travel limited to training (e.g., conferences/courses).

This position requires you to maintain internet service and a mobile phone with voice and data plans to be used when required for work.

Purpose

The ServiceNow Senior Software Developer/Analyst will lead complex design, development, and implementation of ServiceNow solutions to support business processes and services. This role requires an extensive understanding of ServiceNow architecture and Service Management. It will work closely with stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business needs, considering schedule, accessibility, performance, and security.

Responsibilities Platform Development and Support
  • Develop and configure ServiceNow applications and modules.
  • Design and implement advanced workflows, business rules, UI policies, scripts, and integrations.
  • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and system testing to ensure the quality and functionality of developed solutions.
  • Address defects and incidents to ensure high-quality standards and customer service excellence.
  • Supports and follows the entries development lifecycle adhering to documented good practices.
Requirement Analysis and Solution Design
  • Supplement Business Analyst by gathering and analyzing requirements through collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • Design and propose solutions that align with business objectives, and ServiceNow best practices, minimizing platform customizations.
Mentoring and Leadership
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, providing technical leadership and sharing best practices.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for team members and stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
System Administrator
  • Supplement the System Administrator with the day-to-day administration of the ServiceNow platform, including user and group management, security configurations, and system updates.
  • Monitor platform health, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance improvements.
  • Manage system upgrades, patches, and regular maintenance activities.
Training and Documentation
  • Supplement the Training Specialist by providing training and support to end-users and stakeholders on ServiceNow functionality and best practices.
  • Create and maintain internal and external knowledge and training materials.
Continuous Improvement
  • Stay current with the latest ServiceNow features, functionalities, and industry trends.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the ServiceNow platform.
  • Attend ServiceNow training and certification programs.
  • Perform other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school graduation or GED.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) or ServiceNow System Administrator (CSA).
  • Proven experience as a ServiceNow Developer/Analyst with a strong understanding of the ServiceNow platform.
  • Experience in IT service management (ITSM) and familiarity with ITIL processes.
  • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow modules such as Incident, Problem, Change, Asset, and Configuration Management.
  • Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, and other web technologies.
  • Experience with REST/SOAP web services and integrations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in other ServiceNow products such as HR Service Delivery (HRSD), Service Portfolio Management (SPM), and Customer Service Management (CSM).
  • Experience administering ServiceNow in a higher education environment
  • Experience writing technical documentation and managing projects.
  • Experience in the day-to-day administration of the ServiceNow platform.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members.
Salary Range

$85,000 + depending on qualifications

Work Shift
  • Monday - Friday, Flexible between 7am - 6pm, Central Time.
