Overview

The Grants Financial Analyst supports Carle's Grants Administration Office by providing post-award support for grants awarded to Carle Health System to ensure compliance with OMB 2 CFR 200 Uniform Guidance as well as compliance with grant and institution specific requirements. This individual is primarily responsible for post-award invoicing and administration of non-research grants (e.g., programmatic, outreach, equipment, infrastructure, etc.). This position will require professional judgment, independence, and discretion to serve as a grants point of contact for Carle, reporting to the Director of Grants Administration and Research Operations.

Responsibilities

Primary post-award responsibilities include collaborating with departments to establish and financially manage their grants in the Grants module of Workday, as well as working with Research and Accounting to develop and roll out OMB compliant accounting and procurement guidance and processes as needed.

The Analyst must exercise consistent and sound judgment, as well as understand and apply Carle's relevant policies, procedures, and accepted regulatory practices, in a deadline driven environment.


Transaction-based and Installment-based grant billings in Workday for approximately 40 grants across the Carle Health System, including application of payments and monitoring of receivables. Run and review various reports to effectively monitor and analyze financial data in collaboration with the department for grant accounts to ensure that all financial activity complies with internal and external policies (including OMB 2 CFR 200 Uniform Guidance) and that all transactions comply with project budgets and agreements. Perform ad-hoc expenditure reports and budget revisions, review for allowability of expenditures on grant funds and initiate expense transfers or invoice credits when necessary. Review financial reports and analyses to assist departments with the administration and monitoring of their grants. Alert departments when budget revisions and extensions are needed and advise on the financial impacts. Assist with monitoring and ensure compliance of personnel effort and compensation on grants so that obligations are tracked and met. Assist grantees in meeting various internal and external reporting and audit requirements by deadlines. Complete grant close-out reviews and work with Accounting to close completed award accounts in a timely manner. Represent Carle Health during internal and external audits, in collaboration with Research, Accounting and Compliance. Interpret agency guidelines and regulations for funding from Federal, State, and private sponsors. Assist with ongoing build out of the Grants Module in Workday. Assist Carle departments as needed with proposal documents including budgets, biosketches, letters of support, and other required documentation to prepare and submit grant applications to external sponsors.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $26.41per hour - $44.1per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
