Overview: Under the direction of the RN or LPN, assists in the individualized care of the patient to achieve the patient's highest level of wellness. Works cooperatively with others as part of a team; recognizes the importance of group goals. Performs designated clinical procedures and nonclinical support tasks essential to providing care to the patient.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Currently enrolled in an approved or accredited nursing program.
- Prior to employment, candidates must provide:
- Transcripts confirming completion ofFundamentals of Nursingfrom an accredited nursing school.
- A competency skills checklist from their academic institution.
- Must remain in good academic standing throughout employment in this role.
- Note:This position is exclusively for active nursing students. If a student exits their nursing program for any reason, they will no longer be eligible to continue in the Nurse Technician role.
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within one month of hire.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Prolonged standing and walking required during each shift.
- Must be able to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform job duties.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience:
- Previous patient care experience, EMT, or Paramedic background.
Certifications:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT)
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- Advanced Unlicensed Assistant (AUA) - applicable in the state of practice
