Senior Technical Service Manager - Automotive OEM - USCA

The Senior Technical Service Manager - Automotive OEM - USCA will have responsibility to oversee an organization that provides site support for Automotive OEM assembly plants in the United States and Canada. The position will be part of the Optima Solutions Americas Leadership Team and will have direct reports that are Optima Solutions Managers. This role will report to the Optima Solutions Senior Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Drives organizational optimization by leveraging geographic and team synergies, with a constant focus on minimizing all costs associated with the delivery of required services through the establishment of an organization that challenges the status quo and seeks opportunities to be more efficient in all phases of activity while meeting the needs for customer support and additional services in alignment with the account strategy
• Work with the Optima Solutions Specialist team to provide launch and product support when needed to demonstrate PPG knowledge on Customer pain points.
• Provides product problem solving expertise; serves as an expert resource to resolve or lead the resolution of crisis situations involving products or application issues at the customer as per their own ability or mobilizes others to assist
• Directs and guarantees that all aspects of Launch activities within the account, in compliance with PPG WAY pillars such as Safety, Quality, Business Conduct, Code of Ethics, Product Stewardship, export control
• Actively engages in the development of demand planning processes, is a gatekeeper for new technologies and products, and, working with the account director, is a key voice in the development of Customer specific strategies
• Develops and emphasizes the use of Sigma Logic disciplines, DMAIC and FMEAs in the management of all technologies during the course of operations within Customer sites
• Conducts reviews of all metrics and drives topic-specific initiatives to identify and eradicate the causes of persistent problems. Is proactive in ensuring budget commitments are met, including use of the layoff/furlough option
• Makes EH&S first priority on daily cadence for the entire organization of the account and establishes the right procedures in alignment with PPG and customer programs and policies on this area
• Be a business partner with the account leaders to grow sales and improve profitability in the USCA OEM business to improve the overall Americas Automotive business results.
• Drives absolute adherence to all tools used in the organization, including but limited to: RMT, CSP Dashboard, Secure Launch, CAIR, FOCUS etc. and any other discipline in place
• Develops the talent pool to cover potential gaps or any other resource needed

Qualifications

• 10 + years' experience in a commercial or technical service role with a proven record of leadership, sales achievements and people management
• Experience in managing across regional, country and team boundaries
• Very strong financial management skills
• Demonstrable market, customer awareness and product technical knowledge are essential
• Detailed knowledge of all customer coatings/specialty products application equipment and processes
• Ability to lead a large team and interface effectively with technical, sales, marketing and manufacturing management
• Required 25% travel - Travel within the region is expected and will often be with little planning.
