https://engineering.uark.edu/ Summary of Job Duties:The Administrative Support Assistant III in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Arkansas is a multifaceted role providing high-level support to the department's operations, faculty, and students.

Responsibilities include:
*Office Coordination: Managing daily office activities, such as coordinating travel for faculty and staff, handling supplies, and ensuring smooth front office operations.
*Social Media Management: Creating and overseeing the departmental social media presence, requiring skills in content creation, community engagement, and analytics.
*Hiring and Supervision: Recruiting and managing hourly employees, including scheduling and overseeing their clerical duties.
*Event Coordination: Planning and assisting with departmental events, requiring skills in budgeting, vendor management, and problem-solving.
*Student Support: Serving as the student enrollment and records specialist, assisting the Academic Advisor & Success Coach, and Associate Department Head of Graduate Programs with student-related processes and maintaining accurate student records.

This role requires strong organizational skills, communication abilities, and proficiency in MS Office products and Workday, as well as the ability and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and workloads.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma

  • At least one year of specialized training in business management, business education, or a related field

  • At least two years of experience in specialized or a related field applicable to work performed

  • Experience using MS Office software and productivity tools

  • At least one year of experience with University of Arkansas travel policies and processes

  • At least one year of experience with HR-related Evergreen hiring processes and Workday

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in business, administration, higher education, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least one year of experience in producing and maintaining a professional, social media program

  • At least one year of experience in event planning and coordination

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations, and agency/institution policies and applicable laws

  • Ability to monitor expenditures

  • Ability to interpret and apply laws, policies, and procedures

  • Ability to investigate complaints, identify problems, and design corrective measures

  • Ability to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and compliance of administrative operations, budgets, and programs
