Salary: $87,000 per year

Seaward Services is seeking an Operations Coordinator for our Hornblower Wind CTV operations in MA and VA. Candidate will need to reside on the East Coast, must be geographically adjacent to vessels and operations in this region. The position is remote with some travel.

About the Opportunity:

The Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of crew management, including scheduling, travel logistics, payroll oversight, recruitment support, and employee relations, while ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with company and client standards. This role serves as a key liaison between crew members, internal departments, and external stakeholders to support smooth maritime operations in the Hornblower Wind CTV division of Seaward Services.

Candidate will need to reside on the East Coast, must be geographically adjacent to vessels and operations in this region. The position is remote with some travel.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Manage crew schedules and rotations, ensuring operational coverage.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for crew members, in coordination with the Port Engineer(s) and Project Manager.
  • Conduct regular meetings with crew to address concerns, updates, or support needs.
  • Track and monitor employee performance in collaboration with onboard management.
  • Support the development and maintenance of a crew uniform program.
  • Manage all crew travel arrangements for training and crew changes, with a focus on advance planning and cost efficiency.
  • Handle emergent travel and crew change with the support of the Port Engineer and Project Manager.
  • Support invoicing for all travel-related expenses (flights, hotels, rentals, etc.).
  • Assess staffing needs and conduct preliminary interviews for new hires in coordination with the Talent and Acquisition team.
  • Work closely with Human Resources on all onboarding procedures and employee relations matters.
  • Oversee payroll operations as conducted by onboard management.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager and Human Resources on personnel actions such as promotions, salary changes, and position changes.
  • Assist in company-wide communications to all CTV fleets, in conjunction with Human Resources.
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Work directly with clients to ensure full compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Track annual spending related to the area of operation and implement strategies to achieve annual savings targets.
  • Support and promote all Health, Safety, Security, Quality, and Environment (HSSQE) goals of Windea, Seaward Services, and the client.
  • Additional job duties as assigned.


Requirements & Qualifications:



  • Remote-based, with regular interaction via phone, email, and Teams
  • Occasional visits to vessels or project sites may be required.

  • Candidate will need to reside on the East Coast, must be geographically adjacent to vessels and operations in this region. The position is remote with some travel.


  • May involve occasional extended hours or availability outside standard business hours, particularly during crew changes or operational emergencies
  • High school diploma required; degree from a Maritime University with sailing experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven, successful career record in the marine industry.
  • Experience with shipboard monitoring and maintenance software (e.g., HELM) preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. passport.
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (2010 or newer).
  • Familiarity with marine operations software systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated management and administrative capabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and execute complex tasks on tight deadlines.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced, distraction-heavy environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Capable of interpreting and following complex oral and written instructions.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve operational efficiency and control costs.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable maritime regulations and laws.
