Position Title: Assistant/Associate Athletic Trainer for Men's BasketballCompensation: 45,000-60,000Department: Intercollegiate Athletics Ops_AAbout this opportunity: Ball State University welcomes applications for an Assistant/Associate Athletic Trainer for Men's Basketball.What you'll do and what you'll bring: Position Function: Perform duties as assigned within the Athletics health care program. Serve as the Head Athletic Trainer for the men's basketball program. Duties/Responsibilities: Serve as the athletic trainer and have direct supervision for men's basketball, as necessary on a daily basis.
Provide athletic training services to men's basketball, including travel and coverage for home/away events.
Evaluate injuries and make physician referral decisions for assigned sports.
Design and implement, in coordination with the team physician, all rehabilitation and therapeutic programs for assigned sports.
Make recommendations for the coordination the day-to-day operations of the health care program for Intercollegiate Athletics.
Direct all communication between the athlete, training room staff, team physicians, and coaching staff for the assigned sports.
Coordinate with the Strength and Conditioning Coach, nutrition staff, and mental wellness staff regarding programs for injured and rehabilitating athletes.
Show commitment to and responsibility for, adherence to all rules and regulations of Ball State University, the Mid-American Conference and the NCAA.
Work in conjunction with other members of the training staff, to supervise the athletic training students and interns.
Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree by date of appointment from an accredited college or university; NATA certification; Indiana Athletic Trainer State License or eligible for licensure.
At least two years of related experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the university's auto fleet policy. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
