Job Summary
The Medical Operations Specialist manages the daily operations and administrative requirements of a medical directorate supporting special operations. This specialist provides program oversight for current and future medical projects, serves as subject matter expert (SME) for medical training and scenario simulation (moulage), and orchestrates logistics support to meet dynamic operational and training demands. The role ensures seamless execution of medical mission priorities and compliance with government contract parameters, acting as a pivotal facilitator between operational teams, medical SMEs, and logistics elements.
Role and Responsibilities
Medical Training, Operations Management & SME Support
- Oversee day-to-day medical directorate activities, coordinating administrative task, scheduling and resource allocation to optimize unit readiness and mission performance.
- Design and implement medical training programs for special operations forces, providing moulage, trauma simulation, and instructional expertise.
- Act as a Medical Subject Matter Expert, developing and delivering training content, evaluating learner performance, and updating materials to match evolving clinical protocols and operational requirements.
- Assist in scenario development and role-player coordination for realistic training events.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational effectiveness and process improvement.
- Maintain compliance with contract terms, government or agency directives, and regulatory requirements for all current and anticipated programs.
Paramedic Refresher Program Management
- Oversee the development, scheduling, and execution of paramedic refresher courses to ensure operational personnel maintain current certification and clinical competency.
- Evaluate program effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics, implementing improvements as needed.
- Liaise with accrediting bodies and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with all training and certification requirements.
- Manage administrative functions for medical projects, including document control, personnel scheduling, and coordination with project leaders.
Medical Didactic Instruction
- Develop, prepare, and deliver medical classroom instruction covering a wide range of prehospital and operational medical topics.
- Utilize varied teaching methodologies to foster engagement and retention, adapting content to audience needs and mission context.
- Assess learner comprehension and provide remediation or advancement opportunities as appropriate.
Trauma Lane Proctoring
- Serve as lead proctor during trauma lane simulations, employing realistic moulage and patient models to replicate combat casualty scenarios.
- Monitor participant performance, deliver real-time feedback, and document evaluations for after-action review and certification records.
- Coordinate with role players and support teams to ensure scenario authenticity and training objectives are met.
Program of Instruction (POI) Development & Coordination
- Create and maintain comprehensive POIs, tailoring content to client requirements and operational demands.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to update and enhance training curricula based on emerging best practices and lessons learned.
- Administer all aspects of POI coordination: scheduling, resource allocation, instructor assignment, and evaluation of course outcomes.
Medical Operations Business Development
- Identify, pursue, and develop new business opportunities in operational medical support, training, and consulting.
- Prepare and present proposals, capability briefs, and service offerings to prospective clients and government stakeholders.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, emerging requirements, and competitor activity to inform strategic growth initiatives.
Training Event Site Coordination
- Act as primary site coordinator for all training events, ensuring logistical arrangements, site readiness, and safety compliance.
- Oversee facility management, equipment setup, and resource deployment to support seamless training operations.
- Serve as point of contact for instructors, participants, and support staff during events, resolving issues and ensuring program objectives are achieved.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Required Qualifications and Education
- Paramedic Certified
- Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited university, or an Associate's degree with ten years of relevant experience in Medical Operations
- Minimum of five years' experience serving in the military or working as a US Federal employee, or US Federal Contractor
- Proven ability to solve problems creatively
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to work at all levels of the organization
- Proven success completing programs according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
- Ability to use data to drive decision-making and measure results, but also highly proficient in analyzing and articulating at an executive level
- Must be a United States citizen
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance
Preferred Qualifications and Education
- Experience supporting special operations or similar high-tempo government/DoD environments.
- Proven ability in medical logistics, project management, or military training support.
- Strong working knowledge of compliance, procurement, and government contract requirements.
- Moulage, simulation, or trauma training background preferred.
- Proficient in using smart phone technology and social media communication applications
- Ability to multitask between at least three complex projects simultaneously while managing overall program performance
- Be able to travel approximately 40% of the time to support several customer locations in the continental US, and possibly abroad.
Work authorization/security clearance requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Must be able to work in office and field conditions for normal workdays

Ideal candidate will be an experienced Medical Operations Specialist with recent military/contract/SOF background and a current security clearance that can manage several projects and programs simultaneously with little supervision and be able to deliver maximum results with limited time and resources.
