Job Summary: Provide daily administrative and general business support for Plant Operations. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to the following:
- Accurately review and validate vendor invoices
- Accurately review track invoices
- Ensure timely approvals and escalation of issues related to invoice processing
- Enter and maintain employee time, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to plant staff and leadership team
- Coordinate meetings, conference calls, and on-site events, including room setup and meal arrangements
- Order and maintain office and breakroom supplies, ensuring inventory is stocked and cost-effective
- Assist with onboarding tasks for new employees and contractors (badging, site orientation, desk setup, etc.)
- Serve as point of contact for incoming calls and visitors, maintaining a professional and welcoming environment
- Performs all general office responsibilities including typing, filing, sorting and distributing of mail and documents, ordering stationery and supplies, answering telephones, taking messages, copying documents, making deliveries, sending documents by fax, and fuels accounting activities
- Prepares, revises, reviews and analyzes documents (reports, graphics, spreadsheets, tables, flow charts, organization charts, newsletters, etc.)
- Responsible for verification of time entry, verification and correction of pay issues and resolutions, vacation tracking / accruals, attendance tracking. First line resolution for pay issues for client group and plant.
- Provides office support (i.e., makes meeting arrangements, makes travel arrangements, maintains office equipment, prepares expense reimbursement, support Procurement Department etc.)
- Participates in continuous improvement planning and implementation in assigned area of responsibility
- Ensures Company resources are used in a cost-effective manner
- Supports and emphasizes the importance of safety and environmental programs and ensure regulatory compliance
- Coordinates special projects and reports for management
- Recognizes problems and is proactive in helping to resolve them
- Processes time sheets and work orders, verifies payroll data on employees, including pay rates and reimbursements, as required
- Maintains vacation and absence records for employees within assigned organization, as required
- Communicates and coordinates activities with vendors, contractors and other NRG departments
Working Conditions:
- Normal office environment and/or power plant environment
- Requires operation of a motor vehicle; Texas Driver's License
- Work overtime and non-standard working hours as directed
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- 5 years' experience working in an administrative assistant position
- Experience working in the Microsoft Office suite - Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Must live within reasonable commuting distance of the Cedar Bayou Plant, 7705 Old West Bay Blvd, Eldon, TX.
- Successful candidates must receive a rating of Recommended on the NRG Pre-employment Assessment Test.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in SAP
- Experience working Visio
- Experience working in OneNote
- Experience creating PowerPoint presentations and presenting

Physical Requirements (Demand and Frequency):
- Occasionally requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, appropriate gloves, etc.)
- May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials and chemicals (except Training Assistant)
- Occasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities
