What You'll Do


The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for developing new systems, supporting existing designs, supporting operations, and working across all business functions to deliver innovative scientific temperature control systems. Experience and a proven track record in mechanical, mechatronics and thermal technologies will be essential to facilitate a "first to market" approach to develop and launch innovative products to be utilized in healthcare, university, pharmaceutical, bio-tech, government and industrial facilities. The Mechanical Engineer will work with Leadership, Sales and Product Management to realize new products and technologies.



  • Support the design and development of innovative cooling component and system level solutions
  • Participate in brainstorming, ideation and execution of design concepts in all phases of a development cycle
  • Communicating, negotiating and reporting of critical design details to appropriate teams
  • Development, implementation and integration of thermal, mechanical and refrigeration design solutions across multiple technical disciplines from concept to production within an Agile development environment
  • Development scheduling, estimation BOM creation and costs of components, tooling, and general systems design
  • Utilize computer aided design (CAD) tools to design components and assemblies with associated fabrication level detailed drawings
  • Manage and track multiple priorities, resources and schedule requirements throughout project timeline
  • Prototype bring-up, debug and characterization
  • Design validation and characterization from prototype bring-up to product testing
  • Utilize data acquisition equipment and software to collect functional performance data of operating equipment for optimization and troubleshooting.
  • Drive failure analyses to reach design solutions and corrective actions
  • Drive design towards performance, cosmetic, noise, size requirements
  • Documentation of thermal/mechanical design requirements, from feasibility study to critical design
  • Work within the Engineering / Product Management team to drive Agile product development of new refrigeration and freezer systems and sustainment of existing refrigeration and freezer systems and operational systems critical to manufacturing
  • Participation in product compliance (UL, ETL, etc.) activities



What You'll Bring



  • Must be proficient in MS Office
  • Experience with 3D computer aided design (CAD) software preferred
  • Knowledge of ERP based systems beneficial but not required
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills to communicate rapidly and effectively within the organization and to represent the company in a professional manner
  • Must be willing and able to independently pursue assignments with maximum problem-solving resolve and minimal supervision, but must also readily ask for direction and help when needed
  • Ability to shift priorities as needed and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must pass drug screen and background check
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. and safely utilize tools in a shop or lab environment
