This Position reports to:

EL Product Marketing Manager

Your role and responsibilities

As Product Marketing Manager, you will utilize your creative skills and capabilities to design, develop and implement the product marketing, positioning, and go-to-market strategy for our SMISSLINE and ProLine Energy Distribution products. You will be accountable for the ownership of the respective product portfolio for all marketing and business development activities in the US. You will also lead the communication and messaging of our product value propositions in alignment with ABB's global product marketing strategy, as well as help coordinate other functional areas of the business as necessary to achieve the expected KPIs for the product lines in scope.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Creates, plans, and ensures implementation of the US go-to-market product marketing strategy, including defining and communicating product value propositions and product positioning in accordance with the global product marketing strategy; Ensures achievement of established targets by overseeing progress and defining improvement actions as needed.

  • Focuses on achievement of the target set for metrics like total demand orders (by ABB and third-party), growth margin percentage, net price variance, Net Promoter Score (NPS), inventory turn on finished goods, and on-time delivery as requested; Develops and implements annual marketing plan in collaboration with relevant business units and/or product groups.

  • Develops business plans focused on driving business development for the low voltage distribution and protection market, ensuring profitable business growth; Evaluates market opportunities, determines appropriate activities aligned with the overall strategy, and coordinates opportunities across local divisions and local business units, as appropriate.

  • Ensures balanced growth for all product lines, product groups, and business units; Creates product demand by promoting technical aspects, providing solutions, and utilizing value-based selling approach; Develops and implements product support and training initiatives, ensuring high customer satisfaction, in collaboration with the global business unit Marketing and Sales team.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor degree (Electrical Engineering or related field preferred) PLUS minimum 5 years of experience in Sales, Product Management or Product Marketing Management in a related electrical products/application industry

  • Experience working with enterprise resource planning and standard operating procedures

  • Ability to perform competitive analysis required

  • Six Sigma or equivalent training in process and quality assurance methodology preferred; Experience with customer relations via service, visits, relationships, etc.preferred

  • Travel up to 30-50% required

  • Cary, NC, is the preferred location

  • Candidates must have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the USA
