Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT) is one of North America's premier processors, buyers,sellers,and recyclers of scrap metals of all kinds and is a key supplier to the metals industry of North America. FPT isawholly-ownedbusinessofCleveland-Cliffsandhas an immediate opportunity foran Administrative Manager. The Administrative Manager is to be the general support to the Corporate Sales team as well as FPT Logistics team. This position will have a variety of duties from assisting with sales reports, general support for sales tonnage for sales reps and yard managers, or assisting with managing rail cars.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enter sales/brokerage orders for all FPT locations.
  • Reserve brokerage tickets daily and distribute to Sales Representatives, Dispatch and Carriers.
  • Enter or review completed brokerage loads daily.
  • Bill and notice all rail cars for all FPT locations daily.
  • Maintain bale and return reports for inter-corporation circulation.
  • Enter all sales prices estimated which includes monthly order rolling from month to month.
  • Enter prices when Purchase Orders are received finalized.
  • When final prices are entered print sales orders that are ready for distribution to sales reps for signatures, mailing and filing.
  • Monitor sales position reports and move tons where needed per yard managers requests.
  • Provide daily support for any of the sales reps/yard managers.
  • Compile and sort documents, such as invoices, settlements, and checks, substantiating business transactions.
  • Verify and post details of business transactions.
  • Audit invoices against purchase and or sales orders, researching discrepancies.
  • Investigate problems that vendors or purchasing agents have with obtaining payment for bills.
  • Prepare vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records, and review for accuracy.
  • Responsible for month end close process entries.
  • Reconcile report discrepancies and problems.
  • Review, balance, and interpret computer reports, and make corrections.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 2-year degree from an accredited vocational/technical school preferred.
  • 5+ Years Experience in Accounting or Sales.
  • 5+ Years Experience in scrap industry strongly preferred.
  • Proficient math skill necessary to fill this job.
  • Preferred working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and programs such as Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook Calendar, OneDrive, SharePoint, OneNote.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the proven ability to communicate with all levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines with the ability to work quickly and accurately (attention to detail) in a fast-paced environment.
