We are seeking a highly experienced SAP S/4HANA EWM Consultant with strong expertise in warehouse management processes and SAP EWM functionality to deliver optimal solutions for business requirements. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in deploying SAP S4 warehousing solution along with foundational knowledge of SAP S/4 TM (Transportation Management) functionality.

The role involves collaborating with global and regional Covestro organizations, as well as Shared Services and Production Sites, to drive solution consulting and design new solutions aligned with best practices. The objective is to achieve the highest level of efficiency and sustainability in the global transportation and logistics solutions for Covestro.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Design and implement SAP S/4HANA EWM solutions aligned with business requirements
  • Configure warehouse structures, storage bins, Handling Unit (HU) and process flows within the EWM system
  • Develop and customize EWM functionalities including inbound/outbound processing, internal warehouse movements, and inventory management
  • Implement and maintain EWM-TM integration scenarios to ensure seamless logistics operations
  • Design and optimize warehouse execution processes that align with transportation requirements
  • Support RF-enabled warehouse operations and their connection to transportation processes
  • Collaborate on integration points between TM and EWM modules
  • Create technical specifications for any required enhancements or interfaces
  • Perform system testing and support user acceptance testing
  • Provide post-implementation support and troubleshooting
  • Create documentation for system configurations and user procedures
  • Train end users on EWM functionality and processes
  • Domestic travel - up to 25% within first year

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, business administration/management, or a related field, with at least 4 years of related experience; OR a Master's degree in information technology or business administration/management, with at least 2 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA EWM implementations from design to go-live Experience with performance optimization for high-volume warehouse operations
  • Experience with at least 1 brownfield migration from SAP WM to EWM
  • Project experience with global implementations involving multiple warehouses and regions
  • Experience with CDS views and ABAP programming for EWM enhancements
  • Understanding of EWM-TM integration scenarios and best practices
  • Experience with transportation visibility solutions and tracking systems
  • Experience with chemical industry-specific transportation and warehouse processes
  • Knowledge of transportation and logistics best practices
  • Setup of RF/mobile device integration and screen customization
  • Configuration of EWM-specific reporting and KPIs

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience with SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) including RF integration, HU management, and physical inventory processes and demonstrated experience integrating EWM with other modules (MM, SD, PP, QM, SAP TM)
  • Configuration of putaway and picking strategies including FIFO, LIFO, batch-specific, and hazardous materials handling
  • Implementation of slotting optimization and storage bin management
  • Good understanding of S/4HANA TM processes and functionalities
  • Strong knowledge of SAP integration technologies (RFC, BAPI, API, IDocs, SFTP)
  • Experience communicating technical and business issues/solutions to individuals at all levels, including process owners and stakeholders
  • Strong active listening skills and the ability to translate needs, concerns, and solutions across functional and stakeholder groups
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a tight project timeline
  • Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Strong understanding of IT architecture/cloud and ERP development
