General Function:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Sales Manager to join our team. The primary focus of this role is business development, serving as the key interface between our R&D and Sales departments. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in PVD coating systems and a proven track record in sales and business development.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand our market presence. Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company goals.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide in-depth technical knowledge and support to clients, ensuring they understand the benefits and applications of our PVD coating systems.
  • Interface Between R&D and Sales: Collaborate closely with the R&D team to stay updated on the latest technological advancements and translate these into compelling sales propositions. Communicate customer feedback and market trends to R&D for continuous product improvement.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients. Address customer inquiries, provide technical support, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for the sales team and clients to enhance their understanding of PVD coating systems and their applications.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical sales, preferably in the PVD coating industry or related fields. Knowledge in the optical thin films technologies will be considered as a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of PVD coating systems and their applications. Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Sales Acumen: Proven track record in business development and achieving sales targets. Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build rapport and maintain long-term relationships with clients.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel internationally as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
  • Language: Fluent in English (spoken and written)


Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package.
