Carpenter Technology's Hartsville Manufacturing Operations (formerly Talley Metals) is a mini mill supplying a variety of sizes and specifications of high-quality round, square and hexagonal stainless- steel bars for distribution. PRIMARY DUTIES Other duties may be assigned, including but not limited to housekeeping, cross training and operator level maintenance in support of equipment operation. Responsibilities also include attention to safety according to specific training and safety rules. 1. Using forklift, overhead crane, pallet jacks, etc., moves material from staging areas to/from manufacturing areas including the pickle lines, shot blast, annealing furnaces, and shipping. 2. Checks lot #/heat # against work order to insure that correct material is being moved and placed in or delivered to the proper area. 3. Bands, wires, removes/replaces identification tags as appropriate. 4. Learns inspection procedures, processes, techniques, and equipment and utilizes this knowledge as appropriate and when assigned inspection duties. 5. Assists level 2 and 3 technicians as required and as a part of the training process. At level 1, training occurs primarily in the annealing and shot blast areas. 6. Performs housekeeping duties as an assigned function of level -1 technician including removing scrap material REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to work in a team environment
