Job Description: Join our Team: Facilities Maintenance Manager Fort Wayne, IN Join our team at Terex/Genie and embark on an exciting opportunity as we seek a skilled and dedicated Facilities Maintenance Manager to contribute to the Terex Advance Team . This position is responsible to ensure that all manufacturing operational equipment, support systems, and plant facilities are in a high state of readiness at all times. This position is accountable for organizing, planning, coordinating, and directing the maintenance functions of the entire operation.Manage hourly maintenance mechanics/electricians and contractors in troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance of processes, machines and equipment, plan and schedule work projects for maintenance department, ensure certain manpower and machines are available when needed, coordinate projects with engineering, communicate status of work to production so all activities interface smoothly, assist in employee training, train employees as needed to meet standards set by NIOSH, NEC and ANSI, conduct performance reviews for the entire department, order parts and supplies to ensure on time delivery for needs of the business as directed by purchasing manager, maintain the computerized maintenance management system to lower downtime, to increase availability of parts and make reports that stimulate quality results, ensure a safe work environment by following set procedures, perform house keeping duties, ensure waste control, responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of entire plant: grounds and buildings (inside and out), maintain SDS and chemical inventory and perform other duties as assigned. Responsibilities:
- Ensure quality control through Management functions
- Maintain appropriate workforce to meet production levels
- Approve, update and maintain vacations schedules
- Assist in employee training
- Communicate material requirements to maintain necessary inventory
- Ensure a safe work environment by following set procedures
- Responsible for securing the plant after operating hours
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain manufacturing plant facilities and equipment in a 180,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility employing over 190 people
- Key leader in driving implementation and steering of a successful Preventive Maintenance Program and Continuous Improvement processes for the Maintenance Department
- Interface daily with production managers and supervisors and is frequently on call
- Spend a substantial amount of time on all areas of the plant floor with noisy and hot conditions
- Exercise economic management through wise utilization of overtime and job assignments
- Manage contractors to complete overload job exceeding maintenance crew scope of work
- Promote safety as part of the assigned task and conduct audits to insure work areas are maintained safe
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- A minimum of one year of experience managing contractors involved with facilities maintenance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Must have good management and communication skills
- Must have adequate knowledge of all department operations
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Possess effective written/verbal communication skills
- Must have knowledge and experience with inventory control
- Must have the ability to manage a maintenance group
