Civil & Structural Engineer

We're looking for a Civil & Structural Engineer to take charge of our structural integrity program and ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective asset performance. You'll oversee inspection planning, manage repair and improvement strategies, and provide technical assurance across operations, maintenance, and capital projects. From risk assessments to defect elimination, your work will directly impact the safety, compliance, and lifespan of our assets.

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with site teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to deliver practical, high-quality solutions. You'll be the subject matter expert guiding inspection tactics, analyzing data, and ensuring compliance with engineering and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee strategies for managing structural assets for both civil and structural components.
  • Lead the structural integrity program to guarantee safe, reliable, and cost-efficient asset operation, including devising inspection approaches and managing contracted inspection teams.
  • Coordinate and supervise repair and upgrade strategies, ensuring effective implementation.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance, operations, and project teams, including handling inspection data, risk assessments, and structural evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes, and legal requirements, and maintain accurate records in the CMMS.
  • Assist with capital planning, budgeting, and project implementation, including structural shutdowns.
  • Communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders such as site managers, project managers, vendors, contractors, and regulators.

Skills & What you'll bring
To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in reliability or maintenance engineering, ideally in a fixed plant or processing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of structural engineering standards, defect resolution, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience in risk management, asset integrity, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ability to oversee contractors and work collaboratively across teams.
  • Proficient with SAP or similar CMMS systems; experienced in inspection planning and execution.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting technical topics clearly to various audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Professional certification (e.g., ASCE) is beneficial.
  • Six Sigma methodology or Black Belt certification is an advantage.
