JOB SUMMARY:

Assist the Maintenance Manager and Supervisor in managing improvements in PM/WO completion along with spare parts to optimize reliability and performance of a three-shift textile production mill.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Take responsibility for the CMMS Database and data integrity, and develop a BOM for equipment
  • Ensure compliance with proper safety, quality, and environmental requirements in work
  • Purchase necessary parts, equipment, and services to perform work
  • Control the cost of maintenance operations by planning, prioritizing, scheduling, and monitoring work projects and seeing that work is accurate, complete, and timely
  • Control downtime costs by maintaining an efficient preventative maintenance program (CMMS) and improving parts procurement
  • Coordinate preventative and repair maintenance activities with the Department Maintenance Manager and the Supervisor
  • Analyze problems, determine root causes, and prepare corrective or preventive action reports when appropriate
  • Develop and modify work instructions with best practice methodologies/technologies to support improvements in department operations
  • Update/Maintain current CMMS Software Procedures and execute Work Orders by priority and deadlines
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
  • Collaborate with skilled trades and other leaders to solve problems
  • Plan around production to access equipment
  • Maintain master equipment files, both hard copy and electronic, and related job plans
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Manager and the Supervisor to develop and communicate relevant KPI's for the maintenance team, PM Completion%, Overdue PM% %, MTBF, etc.
  • Utilize and advance LEAN initiatives within the maintenance department
  • Fill in for maintenance supervisor when needed (out for vacation/training)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of Maintenance processes and activities
  • Prior CMMS experience required
  • 2 years' experience in implementing and sustaining a preventative maintenance program
  • Experience in estimating jobs, showing the sequence of steps, tools needed, number of mechanics, and required man-hours
  • Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and easily adapt to changing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook, Excel, and Word

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move about the production mill

Experience/Education:

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in a technical or industrial area of study is desired
  • Five or more years of production maintenance experience
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2008, or equivalent quality management system
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Production Mill with exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals, requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment, including but not limited to hearing protection, eye protection, hand protection, and steel-toed boots
