Compensation Grade: H96Compensation Details: Minimum: $20.00 - Maximum: $20.00 HourlyDepartment (OPH) Office of Public HealthJob Description: Responsibilities Health Research, Inc. is seeking an Hourly Project Assistant II to work within the Epidemiology Preparedness Unit to assist with conducting respiratory virus outbreak data analyses. This includes assistance to review, analyze, and evaluate call center data, metrics and other information. This will be accomplished using various statistical analytical tools, methods for quantitative and qualitative analyses and other available software, to relay meaningful data. Activities may involve skills such as data mining, data engineering, data modeling, natural language processing and machine learning to extract and analyze information from structured and unstructured data sets. The incumbent will be responsible for presenting these results, in paper and electronic presentation format, through visualizations, summaries, and reports and assisting to provide recommendations to support public health preparedness planning efforts related to future call center operations for public communications related to emerging pathogens and communicable disease outbreaks. This position is part of the Pathways to Public Health Internship Program. It is made available through funding from the Center for Disease Control's Public Health Infrastructure Grant to expand opportunities to strengthen career pathways to public health by bringing together students of all disciplines and academic levels with public health professionals to create a space of exploration, learning, and development. Minimum Qualifications Currently enrolled in a relevant training program or pursuing a related degree or certificate in a related field. Preferred Qualifications
Conditions of Employment Hourly, grant funded position expected until approximately 11/28/2025. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Travel, 10% of the time, will be required. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.
