Position Summary: The Senior Accountant - Systems and Capital Projects (SA) supports the accounting and financial systems team, with a focus on Workday ERP. This position helps maintain and improve financial reporting tools, assists with system updates and testing, and supports various accounting and tax processes. The role also involves tracking capital projects, organizing documentation for audits, and working with other departments to ensure accurate financial data. • Obtain certification(s) within Workday to effectively optimize usage of ERP
• Assist with configuration, testing, and implementation of updates to ERP as needed
• Assist in creation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Workday Reporting
• Assist in oversight and maintenance of sub-systems, including related mapping to ERP
• Coordinate and accumulate information related to project capitalization eligibility, calculate amount to be capitalized and track in service dates (i.e. - Building projects and development of internal use software)
• Maintaining records and documentation to support internal and external audits
• Managing Real Property and Personal Property Taxes and Renditions
• Managing the accounting and coding of owned aircraft invoices and tracking disallowed airplane expenses.
• Assist in the calculation of an imputed income due to airplane usage
• Perform financial analysis and provide variance explanations
• Working with tax accountants for tax depreciation schedules and providing support and documentation for R&D credits related to capitalized software
• Assist with various tax schedules and other tax related duties
• Assist with month, quarter, and year-end closing processes and financial reporting (full cycle accounting)
• Other Duties as Assigned

The successful candidate will possess Capitalization qualification experience and a high level attention to detail, strong Financial Systems, analytical and critical thinking skills. Additionally, the ideal candidate should possess the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field (or in progress)
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Interest in ERP systems (Workday experience is a plus)
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Experience and strong understanding of internal controls

• Proven interpersonal and relational skills; ability to work well in a small, collaborative team, as well as communicating and interacting with a larger group, including executive management.
• Independent worker and analytical thinker with ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to collaborate across teams and with leadership
• Solid analytical and research abilities, especially in accounting, contracts, and capitalization concepts
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
• Able to manage multiple priorities, follow instructions, and handle sensitive data with care
• Quick learner with a strong work ethic and adaptability in a dynamic environment
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and processes
