Purpose

Responsible for coordinating and managing student programs that provide student development and enrichment, mentoring and/or other activities aimed to help students succeed. Serves as the main point of contact and handles the logistics and administration of the program. Communicates and promotes the program to increase participation. Provides information and develops materials about the program. Meets and develops rapport with students, campus partners and external stakeholders. Creates and conducts assessments for the student program experience. Evaluates if program objectives are met and provides recommendations for improvement. Develops and manages a budget. Prepares and analyzes reports. May prepare and give presentations to groups of students. May hire, train, and supervise students. May travel. May supervise a team of direct reports or act as an individual contributor.

Responsibilities
  • STUDENT SUPPORT: In collaboration with OSE program staff, track and assess student progress and outcomes, and provide outreach and support to students as needed; serve as a point of contact for students in OSE affiliated programs who are experiencing stress, mental health concerns, housing and/or food insecurity, and other emergencies; make referrals to campus resources and local organizations; follow up with students of concern.
  • STUDENT LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT: In coordination with OSE program staff, support the recruitment, hiring, training and development of peer mentors, ambassadors, and student leaders across OSE programs; keep abreast of student leadership development theories and good practices for leading student groups.
  • LONGHORN ORIENTATION: Plan and participate in all OSE Longhorn Orientation activities; participate in college and parent meetings and other orientation related activities as assigned.
  • PROGRAM REPRESENTATION: Help plan and attend COLA and OSE events when called upon; assist with OSE student leadership trainings, end-of-semester celebrations, and other social events; participate in professional development and serve on committees.
  • Other related functions as assigned
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field and at least three years' experience coordinating or administering a student focused program within higher education. Experience providing superior customer service. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent time-management skills, and attention to detail. Professional demeanor with tact and respect at all times. Demonstrated expertise working with student populations. Confidence working with Microsoft Excel and Word. Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to learn quickly and work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters in Higher Education or related field. Prior work in student coaching or counseling. Familiar with UT systems, policies, and procedures. Experience with student resources at The University of Texas at Austin and UT Austin student success programs. Experience with Smartsheet, DocuSign, Adobe, Microsoft Office suite, Interfolio, Tableau, and other related external systems. Additional experience beyond the required or extensive experience in advising, group work, assessment, and administration of students' academic programs.

Salary Range

$48,000 + depending on qualifications

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
