What is the role of the Specialist, Talent Development?

As a Specialist on the Talent Development team, you will play a key role in creating and delivering learning experiences that elevate the performance and potential of team members across our company. Reporting directly to the Manager, Talent Development, this role focuses on designing dynamic content, facilitating impactful learning sessions, and partnering cross-functionally to ensure development efforts meet business needs. From onboarding to leadership development, you'll bring energy, creativity, and a collaborative spirit to every aspect of your work.

You will support the evolution of our learning strategies by curating content, enhancing delivery methods, and making data-informed improvements. Whether in the classroom or behind the scenes, you'll help build a culture of continuous learning that empowers team members to thrive.

What will I do as the Specialist, Talent Development at The GIANT Company?

Learning Design & Delivery

  • Design and develop engaging learning experiences that align with business goals and accommodate diverse learning styles

  • Facilitate workshops and learning sessions for all levels of the organization - from hourly team members to the leadership team - in both virtual and in-person settings

  • Travel to stores, distribution centers, and other company facilities to deliver training and support development initiatives

  • Tailor onboarding, new-to-role, and leadership learning experiences to meet evolving organizational and team needs

Content Management & Program Support

  • Maintain and update learning platforms, team websites, and training documentation

  • Leverage tools such as Articulate Rise 360 and Storyline to create interactive eLearning modules

  • Ensure all content is current, relevant, and accessible

Insights & Impact

  • Conduct learning needs analyses and gather feedback to inform program development

  • Monitor training participation, effectiveness, and return on investment using key data and insights

  • Make recommendations for enhancements based on performance and stakeholder feedback

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with HR, operations, and subject matter experts to build relevant, business-aligned learning programs

  • Support change management and communication strategies that foster team member adoption of new tools and processes

  • Act as a thought partner with internal teams to co-create innovative learning solutions

What do we expect you to bring to the table?

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Organizational Psychology, or related field preferred

  • 3-5 years of experience in Learning & Development, with strong content design and facilitation experience

  • Experience with learning platforms and tools like Articulate Rise 360 preferred

  • Prosci or other change management certification a plus

  • Ability to present and engage audiences ranging from small groups to 500 participants

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Collaborative mindset with a passion for enabling others to grow
