Description

Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. Species harvested and processed by Trident include virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to lead our Vendor Onboarding and Compliance efforts. This role is critical in ensuring that all PO and non-PO vendors are onboarded efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of vendor lifecycle management, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to process improvement and risk mitigation.

  • Manage the end-to-end onboarding process for all vendors
  • Review and validate vendor documentation (e.g., W-9's/W-8's, COI's, legal documents) for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure Vendor Records are maintained in accordance with company policies and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Procurement, Legal, Tax, and Finance) to ensure vendor compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
  • Monitor and enforce internal controls related to vendor setup, changes and deactivations.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of vendor onboarding.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining SOP's and training materials related to vendor compliance.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to vendor fraud and data integrity.
  • Serve as the primary point of the contract for vendor onboarding inquiries from internal departments and external vendors.

This is a non-exempt position with a hourly pay rate range of $32 to $39 per hour.

Minimum Requirements

Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs)

  • Two-year Associate Degree in Accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in a high-volume accounts payable department showing progressive assignments
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable principles and best practices
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Advance proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Strong understanding of accounting software and ERP systems.

Preferred education and experience

  • Experience working with SAP
  • Bachelor's Accounting or similar experience

Work Environment

This is an on-site position based at the Trident Support Center office in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

In-office time takes place in a typical office environment: temperature controlled with adequate lighting and moderate noise. While remote, employees must provide appropriate home office space.

Physical/Mental demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time at a desk. Frequently required to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee will occasionally stand, walk, and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near vision for frequent use of a computer.
