GENERAL PURPOSE
Perform inspection of in process parts or finished goods for conformance to specifications. Investigate non-conformances, determine Root Causes and assist in Corrective Actions.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Perform targeted detailed In-Process and Final Inspections of MAP Production Operations.
* Perform detailed inspection of suppliers' materials/components.
* As required, assist in inspection of First Piece set-up's or First Articles.
* As required, perform inspection of Returned Goods (RGA) to determine specific defect. Information is critical to identify trends in returned products so appropriate action can be taken.
* Investigate customer complaints assigned by Quality Assurance Inspection Supervisor or Manager of Quality Assurance.
* Perform within requirements of the documented Quality Assurance System.
* Generate Non-Conforming Material Tags and communicate all necessary inventory adjustments when items are found which deviate from established QA standards. As appropriate, reports are distributed to management.
* Enter data necessary to track part history and in-house efficiency/defect rates, etc. into computer.
* Assist and, as necessary, perform equipment calibration and recall.
* Perform internal Process/Product QA & Safety audits
* Perform basic Root Cause Investigations of internal process and make recommendations for Corrective Action.
* As assigned, assist in development and maintenance of documented procedures and work instructions
* Assist in generating monthly reports necessary to track part/product history and in-house efficiency/defect rates, etc.
* Perform internal stock sweep.
* Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Cooperate in safety programs, initiatives, and investigations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
* Excellent interpersonal skills are required to address quality compliance issues with other departments such as Materials Management, Production, Purchasing, Engineering, etc.
* Position requires proficiency in blueprint & basic schematic layout reading.
* Use of wide variety of dimensional measurement equipment including caliper, micrometer, height gage, fixed gages, basic electrical test equipment, etc.
* Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute ratio, and percent.
* Capable of simple data entry into established software applications.
* Good computer skills - proficient in applications such as MS Office and/or Engineering related software.
* Basic understanding of applicable ISO 9001 requirements.
* Must be accurate, dependable, and able to work well in a fast paced environment.
* Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as, procedure manuals, safety rules and operating instructions.
* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:
* High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of two (2) years' experience in a manufacturing environment; or combination of relevant education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Quality Assurance experience
* Familiarity with metal fabrication
* ASQ CQI Preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and make coordinated movements of the fingers for data entry on a keyboard.
* Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
* Combination of General office environment and regular shop assembly/distribution center environment (no air conditioning)
* Steel-toed shoes are required for working in production areas in this position.
