NV5, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and self-driven Geologist for our Torrance, CA office. The Torrance office offers consulting engineering services, encompassing conventional geotechnical services, environmental projects, and construction materials testing services, as well as advanced geotechnical engineering for hillside design, retaining structures, bridges, seismic analyses, and forensic geotechnical engineering. Our client base is in both the commercial and public sectors. You will work with our experienced, senior-level team, both in the office and in the field.

Perform geotechnical exploration, including field mapping, drilling, and trenching, for various geotechnical studies.
• Perform field observation and testing on grading and construction projects, including field density testing and concrete sampling and testing.
• Perform site assessment and remediation for water, wastewater, and soil.
• Assist in geotechnical report preparation including exploration logs, map and cross section preparation, geotechnical analyses, and report writing.
• Perform miscellaneous field, office and laboratory duties in support of geotechnical studies and construction materials testing projects.

• BS Geology / Geological Sciences (MS preferred)
• 0-2 years of professional experience in the field

The pay range for this position in California is $ 73,000 to $75,000 per year. Base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
