Complies with all plant administrative rules, applicable operating procedures and obeys the plant safety rules. Wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to: Hard Hat; Safety Glasses; Ear Plugs; Long Pants; Long Sleeved Shirt; Gloves; and Metatarsal 6" lace-up footwear (ASTM F2413-05: I75/C75/Mt75).
- Run standard chemical tests according to established procedures, understand and follow all pertinent WI's/JSA's determined relevant by QC manager or designee
- Check test results against customer and plant specifications.
- Set up and operate separate tests simultaneously.
- Prepare, assemble and use standard or special chemical equipment.
- Prepare lab reagents.
- Prepare and package samples for shipment to customer according to DOT/IATA regulations.
- Record and enter all results in appropriate media (lab logs, computer, etc.).
- Notify appropriate personnel of deviations from established norms.
- Performs all required SH&E responsibilities
- Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to calculate equations and use basic chemistry skills
Candidate Qualifications/ Requirements
- 3 years' lab experience and/or 2 years' higher education with Science background (chemistry, biology, physics, engineering)
- Pass pre-employment medical screening
- Demonstrates acceptable retention level for the required training elements and Completes applicable training required for job.
- Shift work - able to work holidays, cover vacations/illnesses/injuries (call outs)
- Working weekends
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Perform all related duties as assigned including housekeeping and complying with safety regulations.
