Overview

This position is responsible for the analysis of all non-originated loans sent to second level review. Reviews loans to ensure that the credit decision process is consistently applied, and that all loans comply with applicable lending laws and regulations. Monitors compliance of loan applications and data through a structured quality control program. Reports on pre-funding and post-closing files, and manages vendors associated with the quality control process, to facilitate the timeliness and accuracy of loan review.

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following location(s): South Carolina


Responsibilities

  • Analysis - Reviews and interprets data in all non-originated mortgage loan applications. Analyzes data to verify quality control and to review credit prior to loan funding. Reviews products and restructures to identify opportunities to approve loan applications. Effectively communicates analysis output and any identified exceptions.
  • Quality Control - Performs pre-funding and post-closing quality control for conventional and government loans. Interprets underwriting requirements of the Secondary Market and Bank policies. Responsible for gauging service quality standards and providing corrective documentation as needed.
  • Reporting - Prepares and consolidates quality control reports for management. Monitors loans for compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and ensures that Home Mortgage Disclosure Act data is reported accurately.
  • Vendor Management - Manages vendors associated with the quality control process. Performs investor-required reviews on vendor work and verifies effectiveness by reviewing quality control results from outsourced partners. Responds to inquiries and resolves issues with third-party vendors.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Residential mortgage or Consumer loan underwriting

OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Residential mortgage or Consumer loan underwriting

License or Certification Type: VA Lenders Appraisal Processing Program Certification.

Preferred, Direct Endorsement Certification

PreferredSkill(s): Knowledge of statutory policies regarding mortgage loans Knowledge of Fannie Mae Federal Housing Administration, and Veterans Affairs underwriting guidelines
