Job Description |
Edge Academy of Health Sciences - 225 Tarboro Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27801 - is currently seeking a Student Engagement & Events Coordinator.
The Student Engagement & Events Coordinator will lead the planning and implementation of student-centered events and experiences that promote a positive school culture, student recognition, and community connection. Working closely with school leadership, this role includes coordinating field trips, student events, and recognition programs, as well as developing community partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Engagement & Event Leadership
- Plan and implement student engagement events such as spirit weeks, college/career days, student socials, and school celebrations.
- Coordinate logistics for field trips, including transportation, permission slips, scheduling, and communication with venues.
- Organize and lead student recognition ceremonies and programs, including awards, honor roll celebrations, and student spotlights.
- Manage event setup, materials, and logistics from start to finish.
Community Outreach & Partnerships
- Identify and build relationships with local businesses, nonprofits, and community members for event support and partnerships.
- Secure guest speakers, donations, or in-kind support for school activities.
- Maintain a contact list and help sustain ongoing partnerships.
Communication & Promotion
- Create promotional materials (flyers, announcements, social media content) for student events.
- Maintain an up-to-date student engagement calendar.
- Document events with photos, quotes, and reflections for school communications.
Organization & Reporting
- Track student participation in events and engagement initiatives.
- Gather feedback from students and staff to inform future planning.
- Maintain records and timelines for recurring events and initiatives.
Additional Opportunities Based on Strengths/Interests
- Facilitate student voice and leadership activities (e.g., student advisory group or forums).
- Assist with school-wide campaigns related to attendance, school spirit, or inclusion.
- Contribute to special projects aligned with school culture and student wellness.
This role is ideal for a college student with strong leadership, organization, and communication skills who is passionate about education, youth leadership, or community development. |
Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.) |
Qualifications:
- Must be a current college student eligible for federal work-study.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
- Passion for education, youth engagement, or community service.
- Familiarity with basic tech tools (Google Suite, Canva, social media platforms).
- Prior experience working with youth (preferred but not required).
