Design Engineer
PCI is seeking an experienced Design Engineer for its LYMO Construction operations based in Londonderry, NH. This individual will be responsible for the following duties:
- Attend kick off meeting with Estimating and Operations staff at the beginning of projects to ensure scope, project details, and contract requirements are understood before shop drawings and/or modeling begin.
- Prepare shop drawings for exterior wall cladding products using AutoCAD and Revit. Products include MCM and aluminum plate rainscreen panels, Insulated metal panels, single skin metal panels, and various specialty panel systems.
- Create 3D models of wall cladding systems utilizing Revit.
- Coordinate PCI scope of work with other trades shop drawings and models.
- Actively participate in project coordination and design meetings.
- Elevate model and document inconsistencies to the attention of the Design Manager and Operations Team to determine what action is to be taken.
- Prepare material orders based on approved shop drawings and structural calculations.
- Attend staff training to enhance staff members' knowledge and expertise of the standardized software used.
- Create and maintain project-specific content to ensure they are consistently aligned with instructions, guidelines, in-house standards, and the project's BIM standards.
- Actively engage with Design and Operations Team to implement best BIM/VDC practices.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in related discipline (Construction Management, Construction Science, Architecture, Engineering Fields, etc.) preferred.
- 2-year technical degree or 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- 4+ years of AutoCAD shop drawing experience.
- 4+ years of BIM (Revit)/VDC modeling and coordination experience.
- Must possess proficiency with software platforms including Revit and AutoCAD.
- Must be able to present a portfolio demonstrating work in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Experience with Bluebeam or Adobe PDF Software.
- Ability to understand design and document coordination.
- Innovative and creatively minded individual looking to improve process, procedure, and construction techniques to provide continued improvement and efficiency to role, work scopes, and our customers.
- Ability to take responsibility for the outcome and results of assigned projects.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Motivated self-starter with strong work ethic and a willingness to take initiative.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as durations of independent/isolated/unsupervised environments.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with Rainscreen panel systems and/or Insulated panel systems is preferred.
- Experience with Curtain wall and Storefront window systems is a plus.
- Working knowledge Navisworks, SketchUp, or Inventor is a plus.
- Local to the Londonderry, NH area.
