THE POSITION

Make use of your clerical skills in a new and challenging way! The Bureau of Driver Licensing is looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Clerical Assistant 3 to join our team. In this role, you will help guide our clerical staff in processing petitions for Ignition Interlock Limited Licenses. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will exercise independent judgment to determine eligibility for an Ignition Interlock Limited License (IILL). This will entail reviewing petitions and the driver records of customers. You will then process the petition if the customer is eligible or deny the petition if they are ineligible. Some of your duties will include data entry, processing forms and other documents, and maintaining an accurate log of work received. Forms, statements, and other various documents will often be received via mail and should be logged in to the unit then distributed to staff for processing. This position requires you to maintain an accuracy rate of 98%. You will receive feedback regarding correct processing procedures. Additionally, you will be the direct line of communication between subordinates and the unit supervisor and manager.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • This position requires the selected candidate to undergo and pass a Fingerprint and Name-Based Criminal History Check prior to employment.
