As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading development teams and ensuring the technical integrity for New Product Introduction (NPI) and repair development of gas turbine component designs. This responsibility extends from initial concept, through manufacture, operational and repair phases. You will work closely with technical Subject Matter Experts (SME), Manufacturing, Powerplant and Project Engineers to ensure team alignment of all technical and schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Drive Technical Excellence: Lead the design and development of turbine, compressor, and combustor components, ensuring robust, manufacturable solutions that meet performance and cost targets.
  • Strategic Project Leadership: Influence project planning by defining technical milestones, supporting work scope estimates, and guiding teams through every phase-from concept to production.
  • Engineering Mastery: Apply advanced analysis to new product development and repair strategies, making critical decisions that shape our technology roadmap.
  • Collaborative Innovation: Partner with chief engineers, SMEs, and manufacturing experts to overcome technical challenges and deliver breakthrough solutions.
  • Documentation & Communication: Capture design requirements, progress, and results in clear reports and presentations for stakeholders at all levels.
  • Manufacturing Impact: Champion lean problem-solving to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability and sustainability.
  • Field Support: Provide expert insights during in-field hardware reviews and operational assessments.



Education & Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
  • 8+ years leading technical development of high-temperature gas turbine applications
  • Deep expertise in gas turbine design and manufacturing processes (casting, joining, machining, coating)
  • LM2500/LM6000 engine or component design experience
  • Strong communicator and problem solver with a strong experience and skills to influence cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Siemens NX, Creo, MS Project and statistical tools like Six Sigma and Minitab
  • Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
