The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a full-time Jr. HR Generalist in Leesburg, VA.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Processes paperwork for functional area(s) according to established procedures.
  • Prepares internal employee communications regarding such matter as compensation, benefits, or company policies
  • Administers various human resources plans and programs, such as new hire orientation, training and development, and the performance management process
  • Conducts exit interviews to collect data
  • Drafts policies and procedures in accordance with government regulations, company culture, and best practices
  • Implements Human Resources policies as a generalist, partnering with business operations to ensure a complete understanding of business needs and objectives and resolves HR issues.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Required Experience & Skills



  • 0 - 2 years of experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS systems



Required Education



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required
