THE POSITION

The Department of Facilities, Fleet and Parks is recruiting a variable hour Administrative Specialist I to support the Parks Team. Washington County Parks operates three parks in the county, managing 2,500 acres of parkland, and welcoming nearly 1 million visitors per year. Our team of 12 year-round staff members, plus six seasonal employees is based out of the Park Office at Hagg Lake. The Parks Administrative Specialist I performs front office functions. This position reports to the Parks Management Analyst and is overseen by the Program Specialist. The role is customer-focused and includes answering phones and online queries, sale of parking passes, relaying of park policies, assistance with facility reservations, daily cash reports, processing invoices, and supporting events/programs and the management staff. The work is fast-paced, and the successful candidate is skilled at prioritizing and time management. This position will work up 20 hours per week in-person, with an ideal schedule of three days in the Park Office (Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays), subject to change due to business needs. Final schedule will be agreed upon before start date. The Ideal candidate will be a self-motivated problem solver, customer-focused, with the ability to de-escalate customer conflicts and involve management when appropriate. They will be tech-savvy and comfortable learning new technology while being able to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience supporting financial operations with intermediate to advanced level Excel skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
- A high school diploma or equivalent. No experience is required.
- One (1) year of office or secretarial experience is desirable.
