THE POSITION
-
Washington County's Sheriff's Office is seeking a General Services Aide (GSA) to assist Sheriff's Deputies and other Law Enforcement staff at the Public Safety Training Center (PSTC). Duties of the General Services Aide at the PSTC include:
- Prepares classrooms, live fire range, mat room, vehicle operations course, and Confrontational Simulation (Com Sim) training area. (The position does not participle in the trainings).
- Conducts shooting range cleaning, following strict lead disposal requirements while utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Transports vehicles designated for repair or maintenance to and from the Fleet Services center or other contracted service providers and the various designated locations.
- Transports equipment for scheduled servicing and maintenance. Assists with returning serviced equipment back to designated locations.
- Performs various inventory and supply activities such as counting, moving, organizing, and storage of equipment and supplies; performs basic and routine administrative tasks such as filing and answering phones.
- Provides general labor or administrative assistance on a variety of projects, activities, and events.
- Performs daily custodial cleaning duties in facilities, buildings, structures, and grounds; sweeps and mops floors, cleans restrooms, offices, and other facilities; cleans windows; empties trash receptacles; sweeps parking lots.
- Provides traffic control and directs parking for events held at the Law Enforcement Training Center; provides general customer service to attendees of events.
- Sets up and breaks down equipment, tables, chairs, and other supplies. Moves and stacks tables, chairs, and other supplies in preparation for events and as part of cleanup during and after events.
- Operates lawn mower, trimmer, edger, blower, and other lawn and power equipment to perform basic mowing, trimming, and general maintenance of grounds.
