Master Scheduler

Position Summary:

The Master Scheduler plays a key role in aligning production activities with customer demand, material availability, and manufacturing capacity. This position ensures the smooth and timely flow of products through the assembly process, optimizing production efficiency and on-time delivery performance. You will collaborate cross-functionally to develop, maintain, and improve the production schedule to meet both customer expectations and internal business goals.

This position is based on Darien, WI.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop and manage master production schedules based on customer requirements, material availability, and production constraints
  • Release and maintain build schedules in the production control system, adjusting daily as needed for changes in customer orders, material delays, or resource availability
  • Communicate schedule changes proactively to stakeholders including production, engineering, sales, and logistics teams
  • Monitor Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) to ensure timely implementation without disrupting production flow
  • Coordinate with materials management to validate inventory levels and initiate procurement actions to resolve shortfalls
  • Lead or participate in daily cross-functional production planning meetings with departments such as Sales, Customer Service, Production, Engineering, Quality, Shipping, and Supply Chain
  • Continuously improving planning models, tools, and metrics to enhance scheduling accuracy and end-to-end accountability
  • Serve as a key liaison between internal stakeholders to resolve conflicts and escalate potential risks to schedule adherence
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered
  • Proven track record in production planning, detailed scheduling, materials management, or demand planning in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of build-to-order production environments; experience in automotive or industrial manufacturing is highly desirable
  • Proficiency with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems; Epicor experience preferred
  • Exceptional communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments under time-sensitive conditions
  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in production planning, materials management, or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • APICS Certification or CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
