Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a student employee to fill the role of Community Support Specialist for our partner organization Rivet School. Rivet School will provide Community Support Specialists with the training, operations, and strategies needed to facilitate Rivet School students (called "fellows") in Study Sprints.

Job Responsibilities:

Staff Study Sprints

  • Community Support Specialist will staff up to 5 Study Sprints per week.
  • During Study Sprints, the Community Support Specialist will introduce themselves and check in with fellows after they've settled in (asks what projects they are working on, offers help, and facilitates any intros to fellows working on the same project).
  • Every 30 - 45 minutes, the Community Support Specialist will check in with each fellow to see if they need any help.
  • Mid-way through the Study Sprint, the Community Support Specialist will call a short break to have fellows introduce themselves to each other, acknowledge milestones for each fellow and ask fellows to share what they are working on and where they are stuck.

Increase Study Sprint Attendance through Fellow Outreach

  • The Community Support Specialist will post on Workplace (Rivet School's workplace social/information platform) on a weekly basis to advertise Study Sprints.
  • The Community Support Specialist will send emails and texts to Fellows as needed.

Study Sprint Operations/Admin

  • The Community Support Specialist will maintain an attendance and goals tracking spreadsheet for each Study Sprint.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program
  • Work study part of financial aid package
  • Students with work study may be prioritized
  • Has completed one quarter of the CfA BA program
  • Knowledge of CfA project study techniques
  • Willingness to learn how to host Zoom meetings, use the chat function and make break out rooms if necessary
  • Eager to build relationships and bridge connections between fellows - Strong interpersonal communication skills

Work Schedule: 4-15 hrs/weekly

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
