Safety Representative

Job Title:Safety Representative

Location: Lockport, LA

Job Summary: The Safety Representative will be responsible for HSE inspections, hazard recognition, performing HSE meetings, and maintaining the facility's handling, storage, and disposal of waste, including managing the air, water, and dredge permits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in monitoring the facility's machinery, equipment, and overall working conditions to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and assist with testing equipment to identify potential hazards.
• Support the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate safety records and reports as required.
• Perform other duties related to maintaining a safe work environment as directed.
• Conducts safety orientation for new hires with respect to safety rules and procedures.
• Assists with safety meetings and trainings.

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of six (6) months of working experience in the HSE field or as an EMT/EMR.

Skills & Abilities:

• Must have experience working within an industrial or manufacturing setting with shipyard experience.
• Must be highly motivated and proficient in using MS office applications (MS Excel, MS Word, etc.).
• Oracle experience is a plus.
• Good communication skills including written and oral communications.
• Basic knowledge of safety techniques and first aid.
• EMT, First Responder and First Aid Training is a plus.
