What You Can Expect

ENGIE's Contract Management Director will be based in Houston, TX and will report to our Vice President of Major Projects and IPOS. In this role you will lead a diverse team of Contract Managers to execute contractual and commercial aspects of small to large-scale construction projects. You will be involved from inception to operation for a diverse portfolio of technology. The Contract Management team is critical in supporting the delivery of capital projects safely, on budget and on time, within Local Energy Infrastructure North America business unit.

This position requires a strategic leader who can lead the development and management of complex contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards, and mitigating risks associated with construction agreements. This role includes developing and implementing contract management policies, negotiating terms with contractors and suppliers, and resolving any contractual disputes that arise.

The Director will also be responsible for monitoring contract performance, ensuring timely renewals and amendments, and reporting on contract status and compliance to senior leadership. This includes leading the deployment of management systems, procedures, processes, and templates to streamline and industrialize the implementation of projects across the division.

Daily you will lead and manage the contracts team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation to create a collaborative and high-performance team environment



  • You will oversee the origination, negotiation, and administration of contracts for construction projects in the energy sector while ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements
  • You conduct risk assessments and evaluate project agreements from a commercial standpoint to ensure risks are identified and mitigation measures are in place to limit company's exposure to an acceptable level
  • You will lead development of new partnerships with engineering and construction firms leveraging complementarity of scope to win new proposals
  • You will lead the development and implementation of contract management policies and procedures tailored to the size of the project
  • You will continuously improve contract management processes and templates to enhance efficiency and optimize operational margins
  • You will Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, investors, and employees
  • You develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor contract status, compliance, and performance
  • You will create a Contract Management Community to enhance people's skills, by sharing knowledge and lessons learned growing the competency of the project function
  • Act as center of excellence in terms of developing innovative solutions and implementing best practices to bring this know-how into our business and capital projects development and execution efforts
  • Champion a culture of collaboration by actively engaging with other Global Business Units in North America and in the ENGIE Group to solidify our contractual arrangements and exceed business expectations



What You'll Bring

You will possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering or a related field.

You will have a minimum of ten (10) years' experience in contract management for medium and large industrial projects or a related field, including at least five (5) in a leadership role, leading teams and influencing senior management and stakeholders

In your ten or more years of experience you will have developed a strong background in projects contract development and implementation; including a profound understanding of procurement procedures. You will have demonstrated your leadership qualities, including managing teams to achieve functional goals

You will have achieved a record of strong project execution and demonstrated knowledge of project related tax, finance, insurance and legal aspects across the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts spectrum

You have gained a professional background in energy systems design, development, and construction with public, industrial, or commercial customers

You have experience in Public Private Partnership (P3) Concession Agreement or similar

You have developed excellent negotiation skills and business acumen

You have the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently at a fast pace and with accuracy.

You have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally, digitally, and written communications, with internal/external stakeholders, team members, contractors, and senior management

Additional Details

This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy

Must be available to travel domestically up to 20% of the time with the need for some overnight trips

Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record; Operation of company provided transportation is required

Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not exposed to weather conditions

Compensation

Salary Range: $150,600.00 - $230,920.00 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
