Job Description:

Our client is seeking a CAPEX Procurement Expediter to join a dynamic project team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of capital equipment and associated documentation for large-scale facility and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong procurement coordination skills, attention to detail, and experience navigating vendor relationships in a fast-paced environment. This is a contract position supporting critical capital expansion initiatives with the potential to make a tangible impact on project outcomes.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Track and expedite purchase orders from issuance through delivery, ensuring adherence to critical milestones.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow established processes and procedures for procurement expediting.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement Package Owner to interpret requirements outlined in purchase agreements and vendor proposals.
  • Participate in vendor kick-off meetings to review schedules, drawing approvals, logistics, and contract deliverables.
  • Coordinate the submission and approval of documentation outlined in the Vendor Document Control List (VDCL).
  • Monitor and escalate delays; work closely with vendors to mitigate potential risks to schedule.
  • Provide regular updates to project stakeholders on order status and potential issues.
  • Create and manage detailed expediting reports in Microsoft Excel.
  • Support project teams with PO closeout, including invoice rejections, supplier complaints, and resolution of payment issues.
  • Act as a liaison with internal departments such as Accounts Payable, Legal, and Audit for procurement-related matters.
  • Foster collaboration across functions and help onboard new team members.

Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting medium-to-large-scale capital projects in a procurement or expediting function.
  • Familiarity with the Requisition-to-Purchase process and document control requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Working knowledge of procurement platforms and enterprise systems such as SAP and SharePoint.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience within CAPEX procurement environments (preferred).
  • Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization.
