Eagle's Wing Child Care and Education Programs is hiring an Assistant Teacher! We are currently hiring Assistant Teachers for our infant and toddler rooms. Come join our teaching team and provide high quality, child-centered care and education programming within a child-initiated learning environment. Work Schedule: Primary schedule for this position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during the center's hours of operation. Work schedule will be set with selected finalist(s) at time of offer. Key Job Responsibilities:
University Apartments is a department within the Division of University Housing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. As a student service organization, University Apartments provides on-campus housing, programs, and services for our residents. Eagle's Wing, is a licensed and nationally accredited childcare center located in the University Apartments Community Center. Eagle's Wing provides care to children both in the University Apartments community, as well as the general public. The services at University Apartments actively support the mission of the University while also meeting the needs of students, families, and guests by fostering the development of a residential community. The University Apartments staff provides these services to a community of approximately 3,000 residents in 1,240 apartments on 83 acres, who are primarily graduate students, staff, post-docs and their families; many of whom are international. All programs and services sponsored by University Apartments are funded through rent or user fees. Compensation:The starting hourly wage is $18.70 or higher based on qualifications and includes a competitive retirement and benefits package. This is a full-time position. Required Qualifications:

First-time employees must complete a physical exam (at their own cost) to provide proof of a negative TB skin test prior to the first day of employment, again every 2- 5 years. This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial criminal background check to be eligible for employment and then every four years thereafter. Additionally, as a caregiver position at Eagle's Wing Child Care Center, the candidate will also be required to pass an initial background check through the WI Department of Children and Families (DCF) to be eligible for employment and then yearly thereafter. DCF background checks may require fingerprinting as part of the checks.
