PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

Set up molds into presses, get molds up to proper temp/speed, run first part to ensure equipment is producing product in an efficient

and safe manner for maximum production quality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up thermoset machines and other job-related equipment to work instructions.
  • Install molds into presses.
  • Mold set-up, correct heat, run first part.
  • Ensure proper operation of equipment and clean after each set up.
  • Supply and set up fixtures, hand tools, material and other supplies necessary to work centers.
  • Maintain quality of molds and ensure presses run properly.
  • Prepare and stage raw materials and components at machines for Operators.
  • Perform general maintenance on material handling equipment.
  • Utilize MRP system for inventory transactions.
  • Clean and grease molds during production and as needed for general maintenance.
  • Reduce scrap and help Operators resolve issues if scrap is being ran.
  • Acquire and distribute required job paperwork to work centers.
  • Promote and follow required safety initiatives
  • Keep work area clean.
  • Performs rotational assignments as needed.
  • Participates actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.
  • 5S
  • May be required to perform additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 - 3 years press experience
  • 1 - 3 years molding experience
  • Blueprint reading experience required
  • Forklift certified preferred
  • No corrective actions or performance improvement plans within six (6) months of the job posting opening date.
  • No decision-making leaves within 12 months of the job posting opening date.
  • Most recent performance rating achieves or higher.
  • Successfully completed six (6) months in current job bid classification OR current career advancement classification.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Skilled in hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Skill to utilize the following machines and tools
  • Material handling equipment
  • Packaging equipment
  • Safety equipment: Safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing
  • Hand tools: pliers, hammer, wrenches, sockets, files, screw drivers, etc.
  • Power tools
  • Telephone
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to stand entire scheduled shift
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance and have the ability to thrive in a constantly changing business environment.

Pay Transparency
nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.

Compensation Range:
$24.42-$44.42
