Scope of Work:
The Safety Inspector is responsible to review and analyze, develop, implement, train and maintain company environmental/safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations; monitor environmental and industrial training compliance. They must enthusiastically interact with employees; review safety programs and procedures; proactively recommend continuous improvement and corrective actions where needed; manage data collection activities and analysis to support problem solving and organizational requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Provide overall quality inspection to the safety procedures and training to help propel the direction of the company's safety program.
- Develop, implement and monitor company safety training programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety.
- Help develop and implement a culture that requires every person to fully embrace, apply and implement all safety and regulatory requirements as part of their daily work.
- Evaluate effectiveness of initiatives through safety training assessments and compile and interpret data to identify gaps.
- Help to develop and implement action plans as directed.
- Help to drive the operational implementation of strategies and initiatives through training in a way that builds a company-wide safety and compliance culture.
- Analyze, evaluate, identify and recommend new strategic, creative approaches to improve safety.
- Inspect for compliance with all OSHA, federal, state and local laws, ordinances, and regulations
- Review internal health and safety programs, procedure, and policies to ensure they are being trained to the workforce and appropriately documented.
- Develop and implement audits of training operations to ensure company and regulatory requirements are being met and report findings to safety management and business leaders.
- Conduct training classes for employees.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years of related experience in safety, (understand JSA's/JHA's, filling out inspection forms, understand Confined Space requirements, operational requirements for Aerial Lifts, use of ladders, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures,
- Ability to comprehend Safety Policy and Procedures) and relay information to employees, Supervisors and Managers.
- EHS degree or equivalent experience - preferable construction related.
- Must have working understanding of OSHA Standards in General Industry and Construction; as well as Environmental requirements such as EPA, etc.
- Have knowledge of Operations, Maintenance, Construction, and Repair methodology, materials, systems, and equipment.
- Ability to communicate clearly - written and verbal.
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve problems.
- Ability to think in terms of abstract ideas.
- Ability to take care of the customers needs while following company policy.

- Must be able to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1) background check.
- Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.
- Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer's mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to perform on-call duties when necessary and report to work within the required timeframe from notification.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors environments. Some work is performed with exposure to low to loud noise level; frequent fieldwork is required with exposure to a variety of weather conditions and the external environment; tasks may require working in tightly enclosed spaces and the use of ladders or other safety equipment to gain access to hard-to-reach locations; some work is performed in crawl spaces, attics or on rooftops. Some work may require exposure to dust, particulates, unpleasant and potentially hazardous substances and high voltage.
- Duties require on a continuous basis to sit, stand, bend, climb ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and twist for varying periods in the course of work; use hands and fingers to grasp tools; make repetitive hand and body motions; twist and reach below and above shoulder; lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; to communicate with co-workers using a two-way radio; use telephone, and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means; see in the normal vision range with or without correction to read computer screen, blueprints, and drafting plans; hear in the normal range with or without correction.
